SXSW 09

Got of the plane in Austin yesterday. Flew all the way from Alaska. So I was a little bit jet legged. Went to some show, but I do not remember much. I remember having a drink right before the show with a guy I met at some bar, after that everything is fuzzy. Woke up this morning in El Paso butt naked in an unknown motel room with $100 on a pillow next to me.

Cowboy in Sweden

Speaking of Scandinavia, and specifically cowboys (Aki directed a road movie in 1989 titled Leningrad Cowboys Go America) here is Lee Hazlewood (American Cowboy Goes Scandinavia). Lee is most famous for his duets with Nancy Sinatra. In 1970s he moved to Sweden, where he worked with his friend Torbjörn Axelman. Both created a TV show titled Cowboy in Sweden:

This song is title The Night Before and is available on Lee Hazlewood's album Cowboy in Sweden. I wish i would get a dime for every cowboy i say or write.

The Match Factory Girl is a melodrama about a working class girl.

Aki Kaurismaki is a finish director. This two films are part of his bittersweet (in the best sense of this word as possible) Proletariat Trilogy.
